(poems) Impermanence: sustaining

Sustaining

As we perform the daily tasks of living
When does the word “intuitive” apply?
When do the rules seem fixed and unforgiving?
When do we throw out rules; work on the fly?
Of course, it must depend on where we’re looking.
Just here my instinct works, but there it fails.
For you it’s clear that if the task is cooking
Though recipes abound, instinct prevails.
Each dinner-time I sit down and I find
A magic meal, and yet I understand
It is the product of your fertile mind.
Not effortless, it takes a practiced hand
But I can cook. Although I’m not as able,
I could do more than set the breakfast table.

  1. If u wish to cook, allocate an area and a time!!! Responsibilities shared are best when not invading each others spaces!!! eg lunch on the veranda
    twice a week?
I could write a poem for all my family called ” Get Out of My Kitchen”!!!! my son almost writes it non verbally for me when I visit.
