FOR SALE
Hartley TS16 720
Dorothy
with outboard motor, trailer, and gear
$4 000.00

A rebuild in 1996 brought TS16 720 to an outstanding condition, which has lasted well. We bought her in 2003 and renamed her Dorothy. We stored Dorothy in our car port, under a tarpaulin for double security against rain.

Dorothy can be competitive, as her racing record shows.
We raced her for several years, then cruising took over and we made changes to suit this role, including:
- reduced sail area
- furling jib
- mast-raising system
The old racing sails and forestay are included in the package, as are an outboard motor, a trailer and gear. Details are listed below.
“Why?” you might be thinking, are we selling Dorothy if we found such pleasure in cruising in her.
In 2007 found I had Parkinson’s disease and, while we could negotiate around this for quite a few years, in the end it all became too hard. So here I am, reviewing some wonderful times. As I prepare this advertisement I have been reviewing some splendid days on the water in Dorothy. You might like to join me by reading the descriptions of our cruises that I have included in “Sailing”.
