There are two stages in processing the can:

1. Cutting a split cylinder from a can (I find ordinary household scissors are fine)

2.  Straightening the split cylinder to give a flat sheet, or a sheet with the required curvature. This machine works well.

 

Once you have the material, you will need to fix it together. I use adhesive tape or contact adhesive (possibly both).
