I want to understand the features that determine the performance of electric cars. And I want to explain it to an interested non-engineer.
I thought the way to do it was to analyse an actual vehicle – perhaps a Tesla. But what about tests? The Tesla was out of our league right now, so we looked for an alternative.
How about a Tamiya Grasshopper 1/10 scale model electric car? It can demonstrate most of the features of the Tesla model X – apart from its price.
