Robin Ford, April 2020 Three ways that life on earth could disappear. A meteor strikes earth a telling blow; Volcanoes belch out ash that hides the sun; Excessive CO2 means earth’s too hot; Or there again, a virus though it’s small Can commandeer our bodies as it grows. Our one defence is implement a siege And starve the virus ‘til it disappears. Can this be true? Can this be how life ends? I cannot hold together in my mind The world-view that I built and served me well, With one that tells me life on earth might die. Reality’s too strange, I’ll choose instead, The fantasy I built inside my head.
