Good Friday and Easter; a short story for kids

By Robin Ford, 20 April 2014

“Dad. Have you got a story for kids about Easter – like your Christmas one?”

So asked my daughters. Bless them.

Here is my story.

===========================

Remember the baby Jesus we talked about at Christmastime?

He grew up to be a man with ideas that some people thought were weird.

One was:

“Think about helping other people before thinking about how you can help yourself.”

Another was:

“If someone is unkind to you, pay them back with kindness.”

It doesn’t always work, but if enough people try his ideas, I think the world becomes a better place to live in.

These ideas of Jesus worried the important people of his time. So they killed him.

On Good Friday we remember that he died for these ideas.

On Easter Sunday we remember that his ideas live on today.

So. When you eat your Easter Egg, think about these wonderful ideas. And cheer.
