Presentation night was beautiful.

We all win!

The winner had been carried up the ramp.
 We all applauded. (Was the anthem right?)
 More recognition of the global champ
 Awaited at the presentation night.
 Some sat with other people of their age,
 Some sat at table with their Mum and Dad.
 The room was fairly buzzing by this stage,
 They gave out trophies — well, the ones they had.
 We’re spellbound by this jaunty sailing boat,
 Where intergenerational appeal
 Brings youth and age together; and please note —
 An adult paired with child’s but one ideal.
 At presentation night we felt the joy
 Of girl and woman; and of man and boy.
